about
For years, I felt disconnected from myself, caught up in materialism, the pursuit of success, and the weight of compassion fatigue. It wasn’t until I began sitting with tea as a form of medicine that I found a profound stillness within—a quiet joy that softened my heart and deepened my perspective. I now move through life with greater ease, a deeper awareness of my impact on others, and a clearer understanding of myself.
Tea, with its deep roots in ancient China, has been a spiritual guide to many cultures for thousands of years. Through Global Tea Hut and other wise teachers, I’ve come to see tea as more than a drink—it’s a path to stillness, a bridge to nature, and a space for healing.
Bowl tea is not tied to any specific cultural lineage but is instead a simple, meditative way to sit with tea. Unlike formal tea traditions with structured ritualsm (such as the Chinese Gongfu Cha, Japanese Chado, or Korean Darye), bowl tea emphasizes presence, stillness, and connection with nature. With no need for complex techniques or special teaware, it’s an accessible practice ~ just tea, hot water, and a bowl. Rooted in mindfulness rather than tradition, it offers a quiet space for self-reflection and deep listening, making each sip a moment of meditation.
With each sit, each teacher, and each bowl, my journey continues to unfold. If you are seeking stillness, a reconnection with nature, or simply a moment to listen to your heart, I would be honored to share a bowl of tea with you.

All offerings are not-for-profit.
Whenever possible, outdoor and nature-based gatherings are free. Some indoor events may require a small contribution to cover expenses. Please note that payments are not for the ceremony itself but rather to support costs such as travel, venue rental, and materials.
Donations are always welcome and help sustain this practice and future offerings. Most events operate on a sliding scale - pay what you can, with flexibility for those in need.

Land Acknowledgment
I acknowledge that Wilmington is situated on the traditional land of the Catawba people, a place of gathering and exchange for Indigenous peoples for over 12,000 years. I honor the diverse nations connected to this land, including the Coharie, Lumbee, Meherrin, Occaneechi Saponi, Haliwa Saponi, Waccamaw Siouan, Sappony, and the Eastern Band of Cherokee. This land acknowledgment is offered in respect to the elders, both past and present, and to reflect on the legacies of violence, displacement, and migration that have brought us together today.

"Leslie is such a beautiful and bright spirit. She holds such a beautiful, loving, welcoming tea space and you can truly feel the spirit of tea come through her. I left the ceremony feeling lighter, and more connected - to myself, my community, and the Earth. To be served by Leslie is to be held and hugged by a dear friend!"

Margaret A., Colorado
"I have had a few ceremonies with Leslie, and every single time I feel right at home. She provides a calming, loving, nonjudgmental space and having that kind of environment allows me to take a step back, unwind, quiet my ruminating thoughts, breathe deep, and connect with myself."

"Leslie's knowledge of teaware is outstanding and her guidance allowed me to deepen my practice in ways I wouldn't have known it could go. She reminded me that we don't need a ton of stuff to have a beautiful tea practice - and - having the right pieces can make a huge difference in the experience."
